I held us up entirely alone most days gone from you were not here and when you were you weren’t don’t you see I had to leave my throne to find you, you could never be found by me; it had to be you but you won’t and sometimes I hate you sometimes I’m grateful for your lack it fills me to supersede, to act in concede like I’m the one who knows. We broke this open we’re broken apart.
This poem comes from a deep place within me, where love and heartache, strength and vulnerability collide. It reflects those moments when we find ourselves carrying the weight of a relationship alone, hoping to be met halfway but realizing that sometimes we have to step away to find ourselves again. There’s pain in that breaking, but also a strange gratitude for what we learn in the process—about others and, most importantly, about ourselves.
I hope this speaks to you in whatever chapter you’re in right now, and reminds you that even in the hardest moments, we grow.
With all my heart,
