The sun is shining and my shadow seeks this warming bright light in my emerald eyes and I squint but I open and hither to comes a day of praise the sky and the land and I’ll take one more stand still and witness the water move, the stones hold, this meet was foretold.
I woke up feeling a heaviness in my heart this morning. There’s some sadness there, some resentment, a little bit of shame.
I opened up my word document to select a poem to share. My routine is to hold down on the side bar and move it until it just feels right to stop, and then whatever poem I stop on is the poem I share.
Today it stopped on this one, this poem about the land bearing witness, filling me with light, and meeting me exactly where I am.
A priestess sister once told me that the land knows how to heal us. All we must do is simply show up, she told me. We just show up and we allow ourselves to feel the sunshine pierce into us, even if we have to squint a little bit to receive it.
We become met by something greater than ourselves when we show up in nature and we open to receive.
Today, I’m going to simply show up.
I pray you do too.
With radiant love,
Hunni Bloom
