My sisters have come and now the moon sees me as a star demands light in your soul kinship binds and ties and tethered are the days and stories of frail beginnings, we chose our own endings are not of the weak or faint and I’ll catch you, too. Me, too. We’re here and self receives the blessings of outpoured hands held in circle, let us dance and be free as we lead home together in one.
In this poem, I wanted to capture the strength and grace found in shared journeys—the resilience of coming together in moments of vulnerability, as well as the joy of finding belonging and support in each other. There’s a sacredness in kinship, in the way it holds us when we feel frayed, and in the way it leads us to our own light. As we move forward, let this be a reminder that we don’t have to walk alone. We can lift each other, hold each other’s hands, and create a circle of freedom and homecoming. Let’s lead each other home, step by step, as we embrace the beauty in both our beginnings and our endings.
